Beef Burger Patty
Fries
Method
Beef Burger Patty
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while grilling.
- 3
Grill the Patties
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach a desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the patties are grilling, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill until golden brown.
- 5
Assemble the Burger
Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with desired condiments and the top half of the bun.
Fries
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F).
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 9
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
