Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add the Pork

Cut the pork shoulder into chunks and add it to the pot. Brown the meat on all sides for about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Simmer with Green Chile

Add the green chile, chicken broth, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the pork is tender.

  4. 4

    Cook the Rice

While the pork is cooking, prepare the rice according to package instructions.

  5. 5

    Heat the Beans

In a small pot, heat the beans over low heat until warmed through.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the tortillas on a skillet or in the microwave until soft and pliable.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once the pork is tender, shred it using two forks. Serve the Chile Verde over rice, with beans on the side and warm tortillas.
