Preparation Steps

1

Grill the Beef

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the beef flank with salt and pepper, then grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

2

Prepare the Vegetables

While the beef is resting, thinly slice the red onion, scallions, and chop the cilantro and mint leaves.

3

Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, and a touch of sugar. Adjust the seasoning to taste with additional fish sauce or sugar if necessary.

4

Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, red onion, cilantro, scallions, mint leaves, and toasted rice powder. Pour the dressing over the mixture and toss well to combine.

5

Serve

Serve the Laab Seen at room temperature or slightly chilled, garnished with additional mint or cilantro if desired.
