Wild Rice Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Rinse the Wild Rice

Rinse the wild rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a medium pot, combine the rinsed wild rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the grains have split.

  4. 4

    Sauté Aromatics

While the rice is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and diced onion, and sauté until softened and fragrant.

  5. 5

    Combine and Season

Once the rice is cooked, drain any excess water and add it to the skillet with the sautéed garlic and onion. Stir to combine and season with black pepper and fresh parsley.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm as a side dish or as a base for your favorite proteins.
