Green Bean Fries
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash and trim the ends of the fresh green beans. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually whisk in the cold water until the batter is smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Green Beans
Dip each green bean into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Green Beans
Carefully place the coated green beans in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the green bean fries hot with cilantro-lime ranch dipping sauce on the side.
