Method

Cooking the Wild Rice

    Step 1: Prepare the Wild Rice

    Rinse the wild rice under cold water. In a medium saucepan, combine the wild rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 45-50 minutes until the rice is tender. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

Cooking the Halibut

    Step 2: Prepare the Halibut

    Preheat the broiler. Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

    Place the halibut fillets on a broiler pan and broil for about 4-6 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Making the Basil Butter

    In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the chopped basil, minced garlic, and lemon zest. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.

Sautéing the Vegetables

    In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the mixed vegetables and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
