Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4-6 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Capellini

Add the capellini pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Preparing Shrimp and Sauce

  1. 3

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 6

    Cook Shrimp

Once the sauce is simmering, add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

  5. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked capellini pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss gently to combine and heat through for 1-2 minutes.

  6. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve immediately.
