Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the farfalle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Salmon Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Salmon
Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper. Finely chop the shallots.
- 3
Cook the Salmon
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Vodka Sauce Preparation
- 4
Create the Sauce Base
In the same skillet used for the salmon, add the chopped shallots and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- 5
Add Flavors
Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- 6
Add Vodka and Tomatoes
Pour in the vodka, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- 7
Finish the Sauce
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to heat through. Add Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, stirring until combined.
Combining Everything
- 8
Combine Pasta, Peas, and Sauce
Add the cooked farfalle pasta and green peas to the vodka sauce. Gently toss to combine and heat through.
- 9
Serve
Plate the pasta and top with the cooked salmon fillets. Garnish with additional basil and Parmesan cheese if desired.
