Method

Classica Bruschetta

  1. 1

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the French baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Baguette

Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Topping

While the bread is toasting, chop the ripe tomatoes and finely dice the red onion. In a mixing bowl, combine the tomatoes, red onion, chopped basil leaves, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Assemble Bruschetta

Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted baguette and serve immediately.
