Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt, mixing well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Filling Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare Bananas

Slice the bananas into thin rounds.

  2. 7

    Mix Filling Ingredients

In a bowl, combine Nutella, sliced bananas, roasted pecans, and mini marshmallows. Mix gently until well combined.

Calzone Assembly

  1. 8

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion out on a floured surface into a circle about 10 inches in diameter.

  2. 9

    Fill Calzone

Place half of the filling mixture on one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edge.

  3. 10

    Seal Calzone

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.

Cooking

  1. 11

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your wood-fired oven to around 600°F (315°C).

  2. 12

    Bake Calzones

Place the calzones in the oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Serving

  1. 13

    Garnish

Remove the calzones from the oven and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

  2. 14

    Serve Warm

Slice the calzones in half and serve warm to enjoy the melty filling.
