Preparation of Olive Mix
- 1
Prepare the Olive Mix
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped green olives, chopped Kalamata olives, minced garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, and red wine vinegar. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembling the Muffaletta

Layer Meats and Cheeses
Take the halved ciabatta or Italian bread and lay the bottom half on a serving platter. Start layering with the mortadella, followed by the sopressata, and then the coppa. On top of the meats, layer the sliced mozzarella cheese, grated Pecorino-Romano cheese, and finally the sliced provolone cheese.
- 3
Add the Olive Mix
Spread the prepared olive mix evenly over the cheese layer. Ensure that the olive mix is evenly distributed for balanced flavor in each bite.
- 4
Top with Bread
Place the top half of the ciabatta or Italian bread over the olive mix to complete the sandwich. Press down gently to compact the ingredients.
Serving
