Method
Prepare the Sauce
- 1
- 2
Add Tomatoes
Carefully pour in the canned whole tomatoes (with their juices) into the saucepan. Use a wooden spoon to break up the tomatoes into smaller pieces.
- 3
Season the Sauce
Stir in the salt, black pepper, dried Greek oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Simmer the Sauce
- 4
Cook
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
- 5
Adjust Seasoning
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper to taste.
Finish and Serve
- 6
Serve
Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors have developed, remove it from the heat. Serve the marinara sauce over your favorite pasta or use it as a base for other dishes. Enjoy your vegan marinara!
