Directions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a blender, combine the San Marzano tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and set aside.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or the highest setting available.
- 3
Roll Out the Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness, usually about 1/4 inch thick.
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of the prepared tomato sauce over the dough. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute evenly over the sauce. Drizzle olive oil on top.
- 5
Bake
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 6
Add Fresh Basil
Once out of the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves over the pizza. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- 7
Serve
Slice the pizza and serve hot, drizzled with extra olive oil if desired.
