Spaghetti

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Spaghetti

  1. 4

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and drizzle with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic and Tomatoes

Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  3. 7

    Finish the Sauce

Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine and Serve

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, meatballs, and marinara sauce. Toss gently to combine and serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
