Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk.

  2. 2

    Coat the Shrimp

Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat again with the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Remoulade Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, and spread a generous amount of remoulade sauce on the inside of each roll.

  2. 6

    Add the Fillings

Layer the fried shrimp, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices inside each hoagie roll.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with extra remoulade sauce on the side.
