Shrimp Po' Boy Recipe
A classic New Orleans sandwich with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce on a toasted hoagie roll.

Shrimp Preparation

Prepare the Shrimp
In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk.

Coat the Shrimp
Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat again with the flour mixture.

Fry the Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Remoulade Sauce Preparation

Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
Sandwich Assembly

Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, and spread a generous amount of remoulade sauce on the inside of each roll.

Add the Fillings
Layer the fried shrimp, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices inside each hoagie roll.

Serve immediately with extra remoulade sauce on the side.
