Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- 2
Cook the Pasta
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
Preparing the Seafood
- 4
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 5
Add the Seafood
Add shrimp, mussels, and calamari to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and the mussels open up.
Making the Sauce
- 6
Add Cherry Tomatoes
Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
- 7
Add Broth and Lemon Juice
Pour in the vegetable broth and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
- 8
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.
- 9
Season and Garnish
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
