Miso Soup Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare Wakame

Soak the dried wakame seaweed in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes or until it expands. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Tofu

Cut the silken tofu into small cubes and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare Green Onion

Slice the green onions thinly, separating the white parts from the green tops.

  4. 4

    Make the Broth

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil. Add the white parts of the green onion and soy sauce, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add Miso Paste

Reduce the heat to low and dissolve the miso paste in a small bowl with a ladle of hot broth. Once dissolved, stir it back into the pot.

  6. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Add the soaked wakame seaweed and tofu cubes to the pot. Allow to heat through for another 3-5 minutes, stirring gently.

  7. 7

    Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with the green tops of the green onion. Serve warm.
