Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take the chicken breasts and pound them to an even thickness of about 1 inch using a meat mallet.
- 2
Season the Chicken
Rub the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 3
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and combine the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese in the third bowl.
- 4
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip them into the beaten eggs, then coat them with the bread crumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking
- 5
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel to drain.
- 6
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top, then spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- 7
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot and enjoy your Chicken Parmesan!
