Fried Chicken & Waffle Sliders

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and coat in the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Make the Waffles

In a large bowl, prepare waffle mix by combining waffle mix and water. Stir in shredded Ballard Cheddar cheese. Preheat the waffle iron and cook waffles according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Honey Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with Ahaus honey until well combined.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Berry Maple Syrup

In a saucepan, heat seasonal wild berries and maple syrup over low heat until warmed through and berries are slightly broken down.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Sliders

Cut waffles in half. Place fried chicken between two halves of a waffle, drizzle with honey butter, and top with berry maple syrup.
