For the Molten Chocolate Cake

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the Oven and Ramekins

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust with flour to prevent sticking.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

3

Mix the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate and butter, then fold in the flour and salt until just combined.

4

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

5

Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

6

Cool and Serve

Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert them onto plates. Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with rich chocolate ganache.
