Soak the Beans
In a large bowl, soak the black beans in water overnight. Drain and rinse before cooking.

Cook the Meats
In a large pot, add the smoked sausage, chorizo, and pork shoulder. Cook over medium heat until browned on all sides.

Combine Ingredients
Add the soaked black beans, bay leaves, black pepper, and 6 cups of water to the pot. Bring to a boil.

Simmer
Reduce heat and let simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beans are tender. Stir occasionally and add salt to taste.

Prepare the Rice
While the stew is simmering, cook the white rice according to package instructions.

Serve the feijoada over a bed of white rice, garnished with fresh parsley and orange slices.
