Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs, ensuring even coverage. Allow the ribs to sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low and slow cooking method will help tenderize the meat.

  2. 5

    Wrap the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil and wrap them tightly. This helps to keep the moisture in during cooking.

  3. 6

    Bake the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.

  4. 7

    Make the BBQ Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce by combining ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened.

  5. 8

    Finish the Ribs

After the ribs have finished baking, remove them from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  6. 9

    Broil for Glaze

Transfer the ribs to a baking dish and place them under the broiler for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 10

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
