Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the halved lemon and Old Bay seasoning to the pot.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the large peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5-10 minutes.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to taste.

  2. 5

    Adjust Flavor

Stir the mixture well and taste. Add more horseradish or hot sauce if you prefer a spicier cocktail sauce.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
