Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Begin by rinsing the red potatoes and corn under cold water. Scrub the potatoes to remove any dirt. Cut the corn in half if desired.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, fill with water and add a generous amount of salt (about 2 tablespoons). Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the red potatoes. Boil for about 15-20 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Remove the potatoes from the pot and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Corn

In the same boiling water, add the corn on the cob. Boil for 5-7 minutes until the corn is bright yellow and tender. Remove the corn and set aside.

  3. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Finally, add the unshelled shrimp to the boiling water. Boil for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook. Drain the shrimp and allow to cool slightly.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the boiled shrimp, red potatoes, and corn on the cob. Serve with cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
