Preparing the Oysters

Clean the Oysters
Rinse the Gulf oysters under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

Fry the Oysters
Carefully place the breaded oysters in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assembling the Sandwich

Toast the Baguette
Slice the baguettes in half lengthwise and toast them until golden brown.

Place 6 fried oysters on each baguette. Top with additional sauce if desired.
