Base Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until thoroughly blended.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare Baking Dish
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Bake the Base
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Fruits
While the base is cooling, wash the strawberries and blueberries. Slice the strawberries into halves or quarters, depending on their size.

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and blueberries. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and toss gently to coat.

Once the base has cooled completely, cut into squares. Top each square with a generous spoonful of the fruit mixture and garnish with mint leaves.
