In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, red wine vinegar, cumin, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt. Mix well. Add the beef chuck roast and ensure it is fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
