Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll the lemons on a countertop to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer or your hands to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should get about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Mixing the Sugar

In a large pitcher, combine the granulated sugar with 1 cup of hot water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. This creates a simple syrup that will blend well with the lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Combining Ingredients

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher with the sugar syrup. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.

Serving

  1. 4

    Chilling the Lemonade

Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.

  2. 5

    Serving the Lemonade

Serve the lemonade in tall glasses over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy your refreshing drink!
