Hummus

Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Avocados

Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.

  2. 2

    Add Chickpeas and Tahini

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Add them to the food processor along with the tahini, garlic cloves (peeled), lemon juice, olive oil, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Blend the Mixture

Blend all the ingredients until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, lemon juice, or spices to your liking.

Pita Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Pita Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Cut each pita bread in half to create pockets. Brush the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt.

  3. 7

    Bake the Pita

Place the pita halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are warm and slightly crisp.
