Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lettuce

Carefully remove the core of the iceberg lettuce. Cut the head into quarters to create wedges. Rinse each wedge under cold water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Wash the tomatoes and cut them into wedges. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood smoked bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet, let cool, and then crumble into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Hard Boiled Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes. After that, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool, then peel and slice them into quarters.

  5. 5

    Slice the Onions

Peel the sweet onion and slice it thinly. Rinse under cold water if desired to reduce the sharpness.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Salad

On a large serving plate, place the iceberg lettuce wedges. Top each wedge with the tomato wedges, crumbled bacon, and sliced hard-boiled eggs. Sprinkle sliced sweet onions on top.

  2. 7

    Serve

Drizzle with your favorite dressing if desired and serve immediately.
