Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth.

Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, large egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined and slightly frothy.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir until fully incorporated.

Add Dry Ingredients
Sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the chocolate mixture, gently folding it in until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
Baking

Bake the Cakes
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft. The tops should look slightly puffed.

Rest and Serve
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them sit for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges, then invert onto serving plates.
