Method

For the Buttermilk Fried Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, add chicken breasts and cover them with buttermilk. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring it is well-coated. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

For the Buffalo Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Buffalo Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the hot sauce, garlic powder, and vinegar. Stir until combined and heated through. Remove from heat.

For the Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Toast the Brioche Buns

Slice brioche buns in half and toast them lightly until golden.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each bun, layer with leafy lettuce, fried chicken, Buffalo sauce, tomato slices, red onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

For the Tater Tots

  1. 8

    Prepare the Tater Tots

Cook frozen tater tots according to package instructions. Once cooked, season with salt to taste.
