Fries
Truffle Oil Mixture
Method
Prepare the Fries
- 1
Wash and Cut Potatoes
Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly under cold running water. Cut each potato into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch for a crispier fry.
- 3
Dry the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the water and spread the fries on a clean kitchen towel. Pat them dry to remove moisture.
Fry the Potatoes
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Once the oil is hot, carefully add a handful of fries to the oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- 6
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried fries from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt.
Prepare Truffle Oil Mixture
- 7
Mix Truffle Oil and Cheese
In a large bowl, combine the fried fries with truffle oil, Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh parsley. Toss well to ensure the fries are evenly coated.
Serve
- 8
Plate the Fries
Transfer the truffle fries to a serving platter or individual bowls. Optionally, garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.
- 9
Enjoy
Serve the truffle fries hot and enjoy as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
