Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.
- 2
Cook the Pasta
Add 8 cups of spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use.
Seafood Cooking
- 4
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 5
Add Seafood
Add 300 grams of shrimp and 300 grams of mussels to the skillet. Cook until the shrimp turns pink and the mussels open, about 4-5 minutes.
Sauce Preparation
- 6
Deglaze with Wine
Pour in 1 cup of white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off.
- 7
Finish the Sauce
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and stir well. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it.
Combine and Serve
- 8
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce and seafood. Toss everything together to ensure the pasta is well coated.
- 9
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley over the top before serving. Serve immediately.
