Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the fettuccine and set aside.
Shrimp Cooking
- 2
Sauté the Shrimp
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Lime-Scented Butter Sauce
In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the remaining butter. Once melted, stir in the lime juice and lime zest. Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Combine and Serve
- 4
Combine Fettuccine and Shrimp
Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together over low heat until the pasta and shrimp are well coated with the sauce. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Serve the fettuccine with shrimp immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley. Enjoy your delicious Fettuccine with Shrimp in Parmesan Lime Scented Butter Sauce!
