Cheese Curds
Ranch Dressing
Method
Cheese Curds Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese Curds
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 2
- 3
Coat the Cheese Curds
Dip each cheese curd into the batter, making sure they are fully coated. Allow excess batter to drip off.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Cheese Curds
Carefully place the battered cheese curds into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Ranch Dressing Preparation
- 6
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 7
Chill the Dressing
Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serving
- 8
Serve the Cheese Curds
Serve the hot, crispy cheese curds immediately with the chilled ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
