Method
Preparing Tortilla Chips
Cut Tortillas
Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles to form chips.
Heat Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry Chips
Fry the tortilla triangles in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Season Chips
While the chips are still warm, sprinkle with salt to taste.
Assembling Nachos
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Layer Chips
On a large baking sheet, spread out a layer of tortilla chips.
Add Toppings
Evenly distribute the smoked brisket, shredded cheese, sliced jalapeños, and drizzle BBQ sauce over the chips.
Bake Nachos
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
Remove the nachos from the oven and top with dollops of sour cream. Serve immediately.
