Method

Prepare the Special Sauce

  1. 1

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickles, and garlic powder. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

Prepare the Patty

  1. 2

    Form the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into a patty shape, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half. You can toast them on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the lettuce, tomato slice, and onion slice.

  3. 6

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently. Serve immediately.
