Method

Preparing the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is reached.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Prepare Tomato

Slice the tomato into even slices.

  3. 8

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and finally the top half of the bun.
