Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure it's hot before adding the patties.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired.

  3. 8

    Finish Assembling

Top each burger with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately with your favorite side.
