Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Make the Beef Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined, then shape into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet and let drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

During the last minute of cooking the beef patties, brush BBQ sauce over each patty to coat.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a beef patty, followed by two slices of bacon, onion rings, and cheese if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
