Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 4

    Cook Bacon Strips

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 5

    Heat Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Cook Patties

Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add cheese slices on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese melts and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast Buns

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in another skillet until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, two tomato slices, two pickle slices, and two strips of cooked bacon.

  3. 9

    Add Condiments

Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.
