Preparation
- 1
Measure the Coffee and Water
In a cezve, measure out 2 tablespoons of finely ground Turkish coffee and add 6 ounces of cold water.
- 2
Add Sugar (if desired)
If you prefer sweet coffee, add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the cezve and stir gently to mix the ingredients.
Brewing
- 3
Heat the Cezve
Place the cezve on low heat. It's important to heat it slowly to allow the coffee to develop a rich flavor.
- 4
Watch for Foam
As the coffee heats, watch for foam to begin forming. Do not let it boil. Once it starts to foam, remove it from heat.
- 5
Repeat Heating
Return the cezve to the heat and let it foam again. Repeat this process 2-3 times to create a thick foam.
Serving
- 6
Pour the Coffee
After the final foam, carefully pour the coffee into a small cup or demitasse, making sure to leave the grounds in the cezve.
- 7
Enjoy
Let the coffee sit for a minute to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom. Sip slowly and enjoy your traditional Turkish coffee.
