Panna Cotta Base

Method

Panna Cotta Preparation

  1. 1

    Bloom the Gelatin

In a small bowl, combine the gelatin powder with cold water. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes thick and gel-like.

  2. 2

    Combine Cream and Sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Add Vanilla and Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.

  4. 4

    Pour into Molds

Pour the mixture into individual serving molds or cups. Allow it to cool to room temperature before covering with plastic wrap.

  5. 5

    Chill

Refrigerate the molds for at least 4 hours, or until set.

Berry Compote Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook the Berries

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the berries soften and release their juices.

  2. 7

    Simmer

Let the mixture simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Serving

  1. 8

    Unmold Panna Cotta

To serve, gently run a knife around the edge of the panna cotta molds. Invert onto a plate and carefully lift off the mold.

  2. 9

    Add Berry Compote

Spoon the berry compote over the panna cotta before serving.
