Flatbread Preparation

Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.

Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Steak Cooking

Season the Steak
Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

Add Sugar and Vinegar
Stir in the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, cooking for an additional 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Horseradish Crème Fraîche Preparation

Mix Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine crème fraîche, prepared horseradish, and lemon juice. Mix well and adjust seasoning if needed.
Assembly

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Shape and Bake Flatbread
Roll out the risen dough into a rectangular shape. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crisp.

Top with Steak and Cheese
Once the flatbread is baked, layer with sliced steak and sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes until cheese is melted.

Drizzle black truffle oil over the top before serving.
