Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Dredge in Flour

In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Chicken

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 5

    Add Liquids

Pour in the lemon juice and chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze and incorporate the flavorful bits. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 6

    Finish the Sauce

Add the capers and return the chicken to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to soak in the sauce.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle fresh parsley over the chicken piccata before serving. Serve hot with the sauce drizzled over the chicken.
