Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the fresh tuna steak dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steak and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until a crust forms but the center remains rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.

  3. 3

    Slice the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, slice the seared tuna into thin sashimi-style slices.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Herb Mixture

In a small bowl, combine the fresh cilantro, fresh mint, and sliced fresh chili. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Serve

Arrange the sliced tuna on a plate, sprinkle the herb mixture on top, and drizzle with soy sauce and lime juice before serving.
