Preparation & Baking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss until the apples are well coated and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Puff Pastry

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your baking sheet. Transfer the pastry to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Strudel

Spread the apple filling evenly along one edge of the pastry, leaving about an inch border. Carefully roll the pastry over the filling to form a log shape, sealing the edges with a fork.

  4. 4

    Decorate and Bake

Slice apples thinly and arrange them on top of the strudel. Brush the pastry with melted butter and sprinkle some sugar on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Allow the apple strudel to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
