Steak Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, ensuring they're well-coated. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper evenly on both sides of the steaks. Allow them to sit for another 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 232-260°C). If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to become white hot.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steaks

Place the steaks on the grill and close the lid. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, or until a nice crust forms. Flip the steaks and grill for another 4-5 minutes on the other side.

  3. 5

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of grilling, add the fresh rosemary sprigs to the grill. This will infuse the steaks with a wonderful aroma.

  4. 6

    Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, it should read 130-135°F (54-57°C).

Resting & Serving

  1. 7

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the grill and transfer them to a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  2. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steaks against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
