Method
Preparing the Barbecued Chicken
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the chicken halves. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
Preparing the Baby Back Ribs
Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mix all over the ribs.
Cook the Ribs
Wrap the seasoned ribs in aluminum foil and place them on the grill over indirect heat. Cook for 2-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender. Unwrap the foil, brush with BBQ sauce, and grill for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
Serving the Combo
Prepare the Sides
Prepare the coleslaw by mixing together shredded cabbage, carrots, and coleslaw dressing. Bake or warm the cornbread according to package instructions.
Plate the Dish
Slice the grilled chicken and place it on a serving platter alongside the ribs. Serve with coleslaw and cornbread on the side.
